Parents are the primary sexuality educators of their children. "Although teen culture may often seem to be little more than a blur of bare midriffs and over-the –top sexual innuendo, parents need to know that when it comes to young people's decisions about sex, their influence has not been lost to peers and popular culture. They are powerful and they can use this power in sound, helpful ways."

Growing Together programs focus on opening and fostering communication in families specifically in conversations around healthy sexuality.  Parent  workshops provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment for caregivers to come together sharing experiences, thoughts, and ideas around  what healthy sexuality looks like in a family.  The opportunity to explore and acknowledge family and personal values around sexuality is a key piece and most often a highlight of parent workshops.  Participants will leave with the most current information and local resources to support them and their children in their sexual health.

SEEDS encourages a Growing Together session not only prior to student educational sessions but also provides a Where Do We Grow From Here? session upon completion. This is an opportunity to de-brief, reflect, share, laugh and celebrate conversations and experiences and create strategies for the future.
