The Canadian Guidelines for Sexual Health Education  state that:

"Preparation and support of individuals who provide sexual health education in formal and informal settings are necessary…Effective sexual health education encourages training and educational opportunities for persons doing peer education, counseling, and advocacy in all areas related to sexual health education" (p. 26-27).

For those working with youth in any setting, sexuality education is an inherent part of the job.  Many professionals find themselves caring for, supporting, and guiding youth in this area without sexual health education training.  SEEDS Canopy Workshops provide professionals with the opportunity to increase their confidence, knowledge, and skills while exploring their own values around sexuality.  These workshops are an opportunity for individuals in the community to come together and network while sharing stories, ideas and approaches that work (and maybe some that didn't).  Participants will leave with the most current and up to date information and resources in the field and perhaps most importantly, the affirmation that they don't have to do this work alone.
